Life Pointe Church is about two years old which started with only 12 members and now has over 130 members. This non-denominational church is home to many young families and features the Kid Zone, their children’s program, on the home page of their website.

During the early months of this church, they did not have a church building but moved around to where ever there was room. Their website gave them a solid place to go even when there was not building. It was as if church was a domain address not a physical address. The website effectively conveyed the mood and values of the church, even when there was no building to do so.
Pastor Cumbie says that the most surprising effect of the website was the sermon’s page. He acquired this feature to allow his congregation free access to the sermons, but it is his guests who seem to find more interest in it. Many of them have not only visited the website before visiting the church, but they have also listened to several sermons already. They were able to feel out the church before setting foot through the door. In fact, a high percentage of new comers say that it was the website that attracted them to the church.
Pastor Cumbie has two favorite aspects of the website. First of all, he likes that faithHighway’s editing software has allowed the church to have a website that expands past the limits of their own technical knowledge. They can easily update the content to keep the information relative and pleasing graphically. Also, he favors the floating pages. These pages can be used for any events or announcements. Any time the church wants to give something its own page for a time, they can with ease. Pastor Cumbie says the floating pages “let us have pages in our pocket to be pulled out whenever they are needed.”
From floating pages to online sermons, Life Pointe church is using their church web design to aid their growing ministry.
