Submitting a Podcast to the iTunes Store

Submitting a Sermon Connect podcast to the iTunes Store is a fairly easy process. However, before a podcast can be submitted, make sure iTunes is installed on your computer, and be sure you have an Apple ID.

Setting Up an Apple ID:

1.Open iTunes and select ‘iTunes Store’ in the navigation to the left.

2.Once you are connected to the store, there will be a ‘Sign In’ button near the top right of the screen.

3.Clicking this button will ask you to login with either your Apple ID, or your AOL Screen Name.

4.If you do not have either of these, click the ‘Create New Account’ button.

5.Fill out the required information to complete the Apple ID setup.

Submitting the Podcast

1.Inside iTunes, select ‘iTunes Store’ in the navigation to the left.

2.Once the iTunes Store opens, select ‘Podcasts’ in the iTunes Store menu at the top left.

3.Next, select ‘Submit a Podcast’ from the LEARN MORE menu at the bottom left of the Podcast screen.

4.This will open the menu for submitting a podcast. First, it will ask for the Podcast Feed URL.

5.The feed is provided by visiting your website and clicking the ‘Subscribe’ button on the podcast page for the particular podcast you would like to submit.

6.Clicking Subscribe will open the following window. Copy the URL given, and paste it into the field provided on the ‘Submitting a Podcast’ page (see step 4).

7.After pasting in the Feed URL and clicking , the option to choose which category and subcategories the podcast will be included in.

8.Click ‘Submit’ when finished.

Congratulations! You have successfully submitted your podcast to the iTunes Store database. Within a few hours, users will be able to search through the iTunes Store to find your podcast!
