General

While faithHighway is based out of Austin, Texas, faithHighway actually has two teams overseas in Russia and the Ukraine. These teams are the development backbone of faithHighway and work to make sure current products function properly and to develop new products and tools. One member of the Russian Team is Sergey, a graduate of Volgograd State University as an engineer of Automatic Systems of Processing Information and Management. He has worked with faithHighway for just over a year, first as a programmer and now as a lead developer.

Besides working with faithHighway to assist in providing quality website design to churches and ministries, Sergey is very passionate about music. He enjoys playing the guitar and utilizing his gift for music to serve the Lord. He actually met his wife of two years at a concert. After leading his future wife to Christ or has he puts it, “my first successful evangelism,” Sergey began attending church with another faithHighway employee and eventually joined the team.

Sergey’s favorite scripture verse is found in Colossians 3:23: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” Although English is not his first language, he would like to share the following word of encouragement:

I believe all our talents are all what we can be. It’s more than a gift from God. All of them are like bank deposits, so if God gives me some ability or skill or talent and I don’t use it, I commit a crime and in some time I will become bankrupt. In other words, all I have I have for something so I want to make it all of what He wants me to. I want to try to use all of my skills in my life that I have been given so I’m planning to:

- learn play guitar and flute and use it in worship in my Church
- become a good programmer and information architecture and maybe designer to work for God in WEB
- write a book (at least one)
- me and my wife dream to open cafe for Kids and for Christian youth in Volgograd
- and a lot of other things :)

I must be God’s child first and then all what I do – it will be perfect

faithHighway hopes that Sergey’s enthusiasm and passion for bringing God glory through every aspect of his life, will encourage all the readers of this article to approach their lives in the same spirit.

It is an exciting opportunity to be able to merge my faith with my work. Through my years of working with faithHighway, I have learned, and continue to learn, a multitude of strategies and concepts that when employed, help churches and ministries increase their online potential.
