The Management
The biggest obstacle to managing your thoughts is noise. We live in a very noisy world: traffic, crowds, machinery, and loud noises that constantly assault our ears; but there is another kind of noise that can be even more disturbing. We can become so overwhelmed by this clutter that we forget where we are heading in life.
Find some moments to spend alone, quiet your mind, and listen to the voice of God. Listen to that still, quiet, inner voice of God and yourself creating a Christ-like compass for the rest of your days. Explore the interests and passions closest to your heart. Look at your talents.
Remember, the purpose for your life is revealed by looking up to God, looking around at the world, looking inside your heart, looking behind at your past, and looking ahead to your future. You certainly do not want to be changing your direction in life every day, but as you grow and develop, you will uncover new opportunities and see new possibilities come into focus. It means deciding to steer your life rather than passively drifting along. The Roman Emperor and philosopher, Marcus Aurelius, was correct when he said, “Our life is what are thoughts make of it.” A billion is too big to ignore and too big to do alone!
