Throughout the process of getting a website designed, clients encounter various people in the different stages of development. Clients have different interactive media consults, production managers, and account managers. There is one person that every client must work with: Elan Patterson, faithHighway’s Sales Support Assistant. Elan is the one who follows up with clients after their preproduction appointment to answer questions about the paperwork and move them into production. While in the scale of time spent per phase, most clients are not in contact with Elan for very long. However, the interaction that happens in this stage is vital to the production of the high quality websites clients have come to expect from faithHighway.
During this stage, Elan:
- Follows up with clients via phone, email and fax to be sure they know what all faithHighway will need back to move into production.
- Once all the paperwork is returned, she reviews it to see if any other tools and features were added and to ensure that all the little pieces, from images to logos to domain names, are together so that production can begin smoothly. This step is crucial in verifying that a client’s expectations match the scheduled work.
- Although paperwork may not seem like the most exciting time in the process, it allows faithHighway to clarify the work to be done thus enabling the production team to accurately fulfill client’s requests.
As Elan puts it,
“I like telling clients that I’ve received all their paperwork and have moved them into production. Then, we get to set up their meeting to view the initial design. If I were a client, I would look forward to that part!”
When she is not helping clients move into production:
- Elan participates in faithHighway softball.
- She also loves kids and works in the nursery at her church.
- She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
Elan graduated with a degree in Journalism for the University of Missisippi. When asked if she had anything interesting she wanted to share, Elan expressed gratitude for God’s provision in her life.
“I thank God for how He’s blessed my life. 1Peter 2:9 says that we are God’s royal priesthood. I know that I am His daughter by the way He has lead my life. I met E.J., my husband, on a blind date. God kept us together over a year and a half of long distance. There is nothing too big for God! He continuously shines His love and grace just through the small day to day blessings we sometimes overlook!”
Elan wanted to encourage Ezine readers with 1 Thessalonians 5:14-18.
“I learned these qualities from my parents…to be loving and kind and to thank God for all. I think this is what it means to be Christian. This scripture gives us instruction on how to discipline self, how to treat others, and how to rejoice in God.”
This enthusiasm to fulfill the Great Commission drives Elan’s, and all of faithHighway’s, efforts to enable churches and ministries to have an effective online presence.
