Meet the Staff: Gene Clark

Fri, Jan 9, 2009

General

Over the last few months, we have been introducing you to some of the faithHighway staff that you may have little, or no, interaction with. These are the people working behind the scenes to make everything from the graphics to the programming run smoothly.

This month, we wanted to bring things back to the voices of faithHighway. You interact with a lot of the faithHighway team:

  • Your interactive media consultant as you start the process
  • The pre-production specialist who helps you spec out your site
  • The client relation managers who make that come alive and keep it going for years to come

Do you ever wonder who coordinates those teams of people or trains them about our products and how websites are effective tools for out reach, in reach, and up reach? Let’s meet one such person.

Gene Clark is one of faithHighway’s Sales Managers.

He has worked with us for the last seven years and has had a wide array of duties in that time. Currently, his main duties include:

  • Training all sales consultants, client relation managers, appointment setters, and new sales trainees - By teaching all these groups information from product knowledge to setting proper expectations, writing training manuals, and testing the teams over their comprehension, Gene is helping you get the best information about your faithHighway options so that the process will be hassle free.
  • He works with the preproduction team – to get appointments set and even does some of those website spec calls himself.

Gene is very devoted to his work at faithHighway.

“I love working at faithHighway because of the connection it gives me to the spiritual leaders of this country. Everyday, I am talking to pastors that need direction with their internet presence. It is very fulfilling to see a church improve their ability to share God on the internet.”

This passion for spreading the Good News can be traced back to Gene’s younger years when he received a degree in Pastoral Ministries with a minor in music from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO.

Gene’s love of the Lord has influenced his family life as well. He and his wife, Diana, have four children and nine grandchildren. Although their families are spread out across the globe, they are still close at heart and are an average family that loves God and loves each other. When asked to share something interesting about his life, Gene had this to say:

“The number one thing in my life I would like to share about is my wife. We have been married forty years, and God has used her, in my life, to teach me so many things. I love how God uses our relationships with other people here on earth to show us how to relate to Him properly.”

We are grateful to have Gene on the team. He has spent the last several years helping ministry leaders find their footing in the online world and will continue doing so for years to come. Gene wanted to leave you with the reminder of a promise from God that he has relied on many times.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

It is an exciting opportunity to be able to merge my faith with my work. Through my years of working with faithHighway, I have learned, and continue to learn, a multitude of strategies and concepts that when employed, help churches and ministries increase their online potential.
