I had the privilege of spending the last week in the Los Angeles area at the WFX conference. I got to rub elbows with technical directors and pastors from all over the country and talk about their outreach efforts online and how we could help them. After the conference, I hung around with some friends from the area and went to Disneyland. We were blessed with a VIP pass to skip every line in the park. We rode everything in just one day. It was one of the most fun and amazing days I can remember. It was just so easy to enjoy myself when I wasn’t trapped waiting in lines, standing in the heat with nothing to do, having a 4-year-old I didn’t know wiping their nose on my shirt…
It got me thinking… How are we as a church making it easy and enjoyable for pastors to use our sites? Do we put our media out there for anyone to just sit down and view it? Do we make our churches easily accessible for anyone to just show up to the front of the line and enjoy the ride? Or are we putting things in the way of getting people to the throne?
Especially at a conference like WFX, pastors are challenged to think about how their church facilities help or hinder their ability to bring people to the throne. I would ask you today, is your website helping or hindering people? Is your congregation stuck waiting in line, or are you ushering people past the onlookers to the real ride?
