Oshawa Community Church in Ontario, Canada is a non-denominational church with an average of 400 in attendance each Sunday. If you follow faithHighway’s blog, you’ll have seen Oshawa Community Church before. We’ve featured their church here (http://mediaoutreach.com/2009/01/featured-client-oshawa-community-church/) and also recently sat down with Pastor Les in a new section we call the Intersection and talked about how Oshawa Community Church is intersecting faith, culture and technology in their community (http://mediaoutreach.com/2009/04/interview-with-pastor-les-lamb-at-oshawa-community-church/) . This will be the first time we have had the opportunity to feature their youth and young adult ministries.
Get a Grip Ministries are the result of a fusion of Young Adults, Youth and Junior Youth at Oshawa Community Church. After having the ministries separated for much of the time through the church’s existence, about a year ago, the decision was made to combine them under one larger ministry called “Get a Grip”.
Youth Director Phil Jean (Twitter @Jesusowns9) wanted to provide a place for youth and young adults who were hungry for God to become equipped to serve Him in their families, schools, workplaces and community.
Get A Grip’s site is like nothing faithHighway has created before. Using the John theme, their church web design features a complex flash piece that allows you to navigate to any page within the site. The same links are also included below the flash piece on the bottom of the page. The homepage also features a flash events area that Phil can change the graphics and links in depending on what they have going on at Oshawa Community Church at the time.
faithHighway is proud to share in all the ministries at Oshawa Community Church, including this new site.
