Do You Need to Row ?

Do You Need to Row ?

One of the most overlooked leadership stories in the Bible is perhaps when Jesus was asleep in the boat. The mission was to get from one side of the lake to the other. He got a boat and he got some disciples. He told them to get them to the other side. And what did He do? He laid down and went to sleep. The significance of this was that He had people He could delegate the rowing to. He didn’t have to do it. He could prepare Himself, in this instance by resting, for the next thing He could do but His disciples could not.

And that is the lesson – what are you doing that someone else could be doing? Why are you doing it? Delegate. You should be preparing yourself for the thing God has for you to do. If there is nobody to row, then you have to row. But if you have some capable people, delegate. And when it comes to your web site, you can decide to be a web master or a pastor. Which do you want to do? I hope it’s to pastor. And if it is, then pastor and let someone else “row” the upkeep of the web site.
