The theme for our Advent Season series this year is "What's On Jesus' Christmas List?" A series focused on what gifts Jesus would like from His followers.

I did a sermon a couple years ago… Silent Night, Holy Cow! The focus was not on beef but rather how gigantic it really was that God interrupted time and space, entered this world and… we holy cow! We finished with the invitation to let this same Christ interrupt our "Holy Cow!" lives.

Sure – we're planning a series of "discovery dramas" where the same character week after week goes through a process of considering this question and then acting on it. Each week our pastor will follow up each of these dramas with one of five messages addressing what Jesus wants from us: (ex., Jesus wants our worship, Jesus wants us to give Him away, etc.). Each of these messages will be followed by the testimonies of real people from our body who are following Christ's call to serve Him in different ways. It should be pretty cool.

Wow. How exciting. There is almost nothing like the power of a testimony by church members to see how real God is – and that is actively moving in the Body of Christ!

Our church (Amelia Church of Christ) will be doing a teaching series this December called Taking Back Christmas. Our culture has hijacked Christmas, but we're taking it back!

"What if Mary were on the Dr. Phil Show?" Although our world view today can be negative, father's can be considered disposible, and DNA considered the ultimate authority, Jesus is Lord and He is Who He said He is.
