Seesmic and Ping.fm join forces!

Two of the most popular sources for updating all of your social networking statuses, Seesmic and Ping.fm have made a deal. Seesmic is buying Ping.fm.

Both applications allow you to send, say a tweet, which will also send the same information to your Facebook, Myspace, Blog…you get the point. It’s a lot quicker than updating each individual account. Now that the two have combined…updating could end up being easier than ever, if it wasn’t already easy enough.

The differences? With Ping.fm, you aren’t able to read status updates made by your friends. You still have to login to individual accounts, whereas Seesmic feeds all your status updates into its application and lets your read them easily. With Ping.fm, you can choose which status updates you want to update. Maybe you don’t want what you Tweet to be posted to Facebook? Maybe your LinkedIn status is more professional than your Facebook status?

With the two applications becoming one…get ready for more specified and more user friendly updates.
