Christian Web Trends just posted something on their blog that I found very interesting- something I hadn’t thought of: gathering and scattering on and offline. Paul Steinbrueck made an interesting point that while we’re used to gathering together offline, it’s important that a church also gather and scatter online.
Here are some points that me makes to help “scatter” your church online:
- Have a good website.
- Optimize it for search engines- so people can find it
- Use discussion forums
- Use social media
- Use online advertising such as Facebook or Google AdWords
But with all this, it’s important that it’s missional…that there’s intention behind all the time spent online.
If you know you want to have any of the following above and aren’t currently using these things to make your online presence known, the team at faithHighway has the resources and skills that can help you get started and keep the momentum up. The faithHighway guys will walk beside you and your ministry to help you with things like search engine optimization, setting up social media groups, building a website, or setting up an ad campaign. Don’t know how to design the ads? Don’t worry…faithHighway can help!
